Brothers from Roseburg, Coos Bay, Eugene, Klamath Falls and Medford raised new 32nd Degree Masons early this Month in Medford Oregon. The spirit of comradery was strong and Brothers of all ages enjoyed the work that was done in the principal reunion degrees.

It was obvious that each and every Brother involved had put their heart and soul into their craft. One Brother even braved a nasty car crash but didn’t let it faze him. He arrived a little shaken, picking loose fragments of glass off himself, but still smiling. Each interpretation of the ritual work yielded a slightly different experience for each Valley and for each Brother watching the degrees take place. The energy in the room was lively and it was obvious the candidates were struck by the Wisdom that the Degrees imparted.

This was the first ever, Southern Oregon reunion for the Orient of Oregon. SGIG Gary Kuney’s idea has been to drawn in people from all around the state to increase communication and degree effectiveness. There are also fringe benefits like carpooling with fellow Rite members who one might not normally be in touch with, and perhaps some guidance to help a younger Brother on his way or some new perspective on the craft.

There was a lot of hard work that went into hosting the event and the ladies in the Kitchen did a fine job of keeping everyone full of their home style cooking. Jim Preston and his team were instrumental in organizing everything. They kept the various Valleys in sync with the proceedings and the Brothers attending in the loop about what was going on.

The Orient of Oregon is very grateful to everyone who made this event such a success. This couldn’t have been such a successful Reunion with out the hard work and dedication of the Brothers involved and the whole hearted support of all the Brethren that drove in to be a part of these Master Mason’s first steps on the next level of the Craft.
