Scotland is one of the most beautiful places in the world. Here at the Oregon Scottish Rite, we love living in the lovely state of Oregon, but we left a wonderful life behind in Scotland to make a better life for ourselves in the land of opportunity, the United States.
We still like to travel as much as we can and enjoy what the world has to offer. We made a trek throughout the states and finally settled in the gorgeous town of Portland, Oregon. We’ve made our dream come true and have saved up enough to make another trip back to our homeland in Scotland. With our respectable wages and consistent savings living in Oregon for the better part of twenty years, we’re happy to have the option of making the most out of our trip and not worrying about the expenses and how much the voyage to Scotland will put us back.
First up, we booked two first class tickets from PDX (Portland International Airport) to Glasgow, Scotland, but we also noticed that we needed to arrange transportation to and from the airport, as we did not wish to leave our car at the airport for the duration of our visit to the Scottish land. We dialed up a limo service to pick us up from our home in Lake Oswego, Oregon and drop us off at PDX. Next up, we also needed to get a chauffeur to take us from Glasgow to our old house in Galashiels, Scotland, so we called up the the local limousine service there and got that set up, as well.
We got picked up in the most glamorous black on black Lincoln stretch limousine and enjoyed a comfortable and relaxing ride to PDX. From there, we entered the airport and took flight, enjoying the lavish accommodations in first class with plenty of legroom and was able to sleep peacefully through most of the 13 hour flight. Upon landing, we were picked up by a an elegant towncar and driven up to Galashiels, where my parents treated up to the delicious food of our homeland Scotland, visit the surrounding villages where we grew up, and take in the surrounding scenery.
